If you are one of the West Ham United fans, then there are some facts you must know as a fan, we have put together some interesting facts about the West Ham you probably might not know before.

First of all, know that three West Ham United players were in the England squad that beat West Germany in the 1966 World Cup Final. Martin Peters, Bobby Moore and hat-trick hero Geoff Hurst all played in the win.

Also march in 2013, West Ham side signed a 99-year lease for the Olympic Stadium, a venue they hope to move into ahead of the 2016/17 season.

The Hammers featured in the first ever FA Cup Final to be played at Wembley, but they were beaten 2-0 by Bolton Wanderers.

They were the first ever winners of the Football League War Cup. The competition was in place of the FA Cup that was cancelled during the Second World War. The Hammers beat Blackburn Rovers in the final.

Their former striker Brian Dear actually holds the joint-record for the quickest time to score five goals in an English game. Dear scored all five in 20 minutes either side of half-time in a game against West Brom in 1965.

So therefore before rounding the whole facts up, another thing is that West Ham are of course the last team to have won the FA Cup from outside the top division. They beat Arsenal in the final in 1980.
